Team members 'Walk for Water' to fundraise for WaterAid

walk for water header imageWaterAid's 'Walk for Water' challenge was back again for 2022. The charity encouraged people to walk 4, 8 or 12km a day throughout the month of March, to raise funds and bring water to the world's poorest countries.

Our very own Paula Clarke and Nick Hollaway took on the challenge, with a little help from their beloved, four-legged friends, all with the aim of raising money to support the work that WaterAid does to end water poverty. As the challenge drew to a close, Nick and Paula had amassed over 520km between them, raising over £520 for the charity (we like to call it the '520' effect!).

Although both are keen dog walkers, they each had their own reason for taking part in the challenge:

Paula's story

"I'm currently struggling with perimenopause symptoms and have been experiencing various levels of anxiety, sleepless nights, weight gain, low mood, hot flushes to finger joint and muscle pain. I thought walking for WaterAid will help others so they don't have to. I'm walking for the millions of women and children who walk distances every day to get the water they need for themselves and their families to survive."

Nick's story

"Golds and I are doing our third walk for water, so others in the world don't have to. We are walking for the millions of women and children who walk distances every day to get the water they need for themselves and their families just to survive. Access to clean water is a basic human right that everyone, everywhere should enjoy."
